This song always seemed to me a good Thanksgiving song. The line "it turns me on to think of growing old" always makes me a little sad because he did not get to do so.
I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving and can spend your evening sitting around with family and old friends and talking of "poems, prayers and promises".

What a wonderful memory!!! Growing up in CO, John Denver has always been one of both hubby and my favorite singers!! :) Sure hope you were able to enjoy a delicious and relaxing Thanksgiving Day!!
His songs always bring tears of joy to my eyes. My daughter and I used to sing his songs at the top of our lungs to and from the babysitters when I worked. We, for some strange reason, aren't very close now and are working on it. So sad about John too!
