This is a "sticky" for the month of July- for new posts, please scroll down.
Cards for Heroes is starting a new challenge!
Christmas cards need to get to CFH by September in order for them to be shipped overseas, used by the troops and mailed in time to get back here to the USA.
Here are the details:
The challenge: Make winter & holiday cards:
- secular (snowmen, santas, etc with Happy Holiday type messages)
- religious (Merry Christmas, religious imagery - nativities etc)
- general winter (love you, miss you, birthday, thinking of you - that have wintery imagery)
- special holiday (specifically Hannukkah!)
So, why not enjoy a little Christmas in July and get those cards to CFH?
Shipping info for CFH can be found HERE. Don't forget- NO glitter!!!
If you're not ready for Christmas, remember that CFH always needs more "thinking of you", birthday, get well and other such general cards- so how about the "25 + 2" challenge? Link on my sidebar.
Added 7/14/09: Cards for Heroes has received a commendation from the Army! Read the details and the commendation HERE.

Happy 4th to you and yours.
I have been MIA for quite a while, traveling and dealing with my RA! But I hope to be back in the swing more.
Glad you had a great time at Disney, sorry you hurt your foot!
Glad the school year is over...enjo your time at the beach. Sounds like you will not be bored!
Your long absent BLOGing friend
Love your blog decor for the holiday!! Woohoo!
Thanks so much for posting our challenge! I hope we get lotsa cards in :) :) :)
Oh and by the way, Christmas cards will be able to keep coming in over the fall, our deadline is in Nov, but we're just hoping to get some of them in sooner so we can get a little of the sorting out of the way earlier. I'll go clarify that in our blog post so I don't confuse folks.
Wander over to your blog from the TUSAL post and was excited to see the Cards for Heroes post. I also love making cards as well as stitching and will definitely have to make some cards to send. Will definitely be back.
Okay, I am curious...how do you make a "sticky" blog post? I've been wondering this lately!
I'm so glad you found my blog, because now I've found yours! I'll be back! After all, I need to read more about Philadelphia (I lived there until I was 13) and going to the shore (I used to go to Atlantic City with my Grandma and Grandpa Green).
Like my good friend/sister, Diane, I am glad you found my blog and I've found yours. We have a place on the coast too, but far away from yours. We are way down South in Alabama!
What a great cause! I am very "into" donating my cards to worthy causes. I love your red, white and blue blog color scheme too!
