It's that time of year
This is a not-very-good picture of my living room floor right now.
Those piles are homework, papers and tests waiting to be marked, graded and recorded.
There is another group waiting in another bag- about the same amount.
Every year about this time I swear that I will change the rules next year and not accept late assignments- because on top of end of the year papers and the last tests of the year and final exams (which are NOT in either pile- that's *next* weekend), there's also always so many meetings and such in May that I am always behind by the time I start on this stuff and the last weekend in May and the first weekend in June are ALWAYS a nightmare of paper for me.
AND.... every year I end up accepting the late stuff- although not for full credit, there are *some* limits, although those limits do not make my job any easier.
So, this is what I've been doing since 7 AM and will be doing until late afternoon, and probably all day tomorrow....
Tonight is my college reunion- which should be a lot of fun. There are several people whom I do not see or talk to regularly, but who are very special and I am really looking forward to talking to them. Assuming, of course, that I am still lucid after the day of school work, lol!
The weather is gorgeous and I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!

Serves you right for giving those poor students WORK to do:) I say that while my son and a classmate are out on the deck...sawing up foam and creating a project for school...I hate projects for school...LOL. Wow, Dr. Hooten,
I thought I'm the only one who is really behind, and I guess not after I see all your works, lol.
I've been writing out cards an wrapping gifts for people, packing to go back to Korea (this is always the hardest), studying for the finals, the homework that you gave us over the weekend, shopping gfts for my family and friends in Korea, a theology homework of writing a letter to myself, studying AP Calc quiz on monday, AP Calc homework, and other little bitsy stuff... whoa. :)
Maybe I shouldn't have complained, haha. Oh, I saw my presentation grade in Gradeconnect, 96, yeah!!Well, I better go to bed since I went to bed at 3 in the morning yesterday...see you on Monday, Dr. Hooten!
This is the WRONG kind of paper to be working with....should be working with DP or Watercolor papers! :o) Hope you had a nice time at the reunion.
Oh gosh...I remember those days. Marking term papers was the worst! I was such a hard-ass...they pretty much had to be at death's door before I let them submit late! Ha ha!
Are you the same LD that used to frequent #stitch chat room? IF so, then Hello from TPRose! If you are not, then my apologies.
Terri
You are a wonderful teacher! I went back to school to finish my degree and do a master's when I was in my 40's. I couldn't believe how serious some were, while others kind of laid back and went with the flow til final time. Yikes!!
I hope you did not disappear under those mountains of papers!! Looks very dangerous to me, but its over soon isn't it??
hey I left you a little something on my blog go pick it up and have some honest scrapping fun :)
