When I was in junior high, my grandpa would take me for my orthodontist appointments in downtown Philadelphia. I trip downtown wasn't complete without a walk through Wanamaker's! I still remember walking through with Grandpa Green...
Me: Grandpa, why do they call it Wanamaker's? Grandpa: They make wanas. Me: What are wanas? Grandpa: If I tell you, they'll stop making them.
I guess someone spilled the secret! But to Mom and me, it will always be Wanamaker's... kind of like the Sears Tower. What are they calling it now?
